The glass of water, and the kitchen behind it.

We treat drinking water at resident taps, in staff break rooms and in the kitchen. Your Legionella water management program belongs with a specialist, and our work sits inside the program they own.

What we cover

Two different jobs. Ours is the drinking water.

Knowing exactly where the line sits is part of doing this well.

Medicare-certified long-term care facilities have had to keep a Legionella water management program since 2017. It is built on the framework in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188. The program sets out where the risks are, what gets checked, how often, and what happens when a check fails. It has to be written down and kept current.

That is a compliance program, not a piece of equipment. It covers the whole building: hot water temperature, how water circulates, pipes that sit unused, disinfectant levels and testing. It needs somebody who does that for a living. The liability sits with whoever owns it.

What we are good at is the drinking water. Resident taps, staff break rooms, and the kitchen that pours several hundred glasses a day. That work sits inside a wider program somebody else owns, and it belongs there.

Sizing follows the building: how many meals and how much beverage volume you serve, confirmed after we walk the place. We quote it from that, and we confirm the final price before scheduling.

Questions

Questions we get about this.

Can you write our Legionella water management program?
No. That is specialist work, and a specialist should own it. Medicare-certified facilities have been required to have one since 2017, built on ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188, and it covers the whole building water system, well beyond the drinking water. If you are still looking for a specialist, ask us and we will point you toward one we know.
Does installing your equipment help us comply?
Not by itself. Point-of-use filtration can be one control inside a program that already exists, and your program owner decides whether it belongs there. Equipment is never compliance.
What do you actually do for a senior living building?
Drinking water at resident and staff taps, and the kitchen. That is the part of the building that pours a glass of water, and it is ordinary commercial drinking water treatment. We size it on how many meals and how much beverage volume you serve.
Is Birmingham water a problem for our residents?
No. Central Alabama Water (formerly Birmingham Water Works) meets every federal and state drinking water standard. What we improve is taste and odor, so residents drink more of it and the kitchen pours a better glass.
